With
the knowledge that our expansion would require more office space and with
the firm’s focus being largely on rural land, Eastern Woodlands Corp. President,
Jon Feldman, decided on a log structure for their new office. With 18 months
remaining on the current lease, he set out to find a log home company with
the best combination of quality and value, visiting many model homes and
manufacturing facilities, as well as individuals that had purchased log
homes and log home builders. Honest Abe Log Homes stood out among the others.
The pricing is up-front and competitive. Many
companies gave estimates for the building we wanted, only to find out that
some key piece of the structure was not included, such as a floor system,
windows, doors, or even stairs. We liked the company so much that when
presented with a dealership opportunity, had no reservations about working
with Honest Abe Log Homes.
Eastern white pine milled-D logs encompass the
1810 square feet of this home. The central portion has a heavy timber ceiling
over the loft, great room and dining area/kitchen. On one side are two
bedrooms with a full bath, on the other is the master suite with a walk-in
closet and spacious bathroom. The entire first floor has various wood and
tile floorings, and the ceilings and walls are a variety of dry wall and
tongue and groove combinations. Standard wood trim was used, but fresh
cedar logs were also cut and added as accents to various corners in the
great room.
Offering these gorgeous homes has increased our
land sales, and both customers and employees are very impressed with the
look and feel of our Honest Abe Log Home office. Our sales model and office
is the “Navajo” floor plan and is located on Interstate 95 at exit 41 just
south of Petersburg, Virginia. |
